Budget to Cut Taxes
The public is invited to make comments on the 2018
Preliminary Poestenkill Town Budget at the public hearing scheduled for October 19, 2017 at 7PM. The Town Board completed its
work at October 5th's Budget Workshop and has brought forward a Preliminary Town Budget
that provides for important town services and at the same time results in a
reduction of the total combined town levy. The combined tax levy
including fire, library (including ballot question), highway and town general
fund will go down slightly. The town and highway levy will see a
more than 3% reduction. "The proposed budget also reduces
dependence on prior year's un-expended balance and should provide a sustainable
foundation for future budgets." stated Supervisor Dominic Jacangelo.
"The entire town board team worked diligently on this budget and continues
to look every day for additional savings."
The Preliminary Budget will be available by the close of business on October 10, 2017.
